Broken Sword 2

[edit]

Hi, I have been working on the Broken Sword 2 article for a while, and Jimmy Blackwing fixed the plot section, so you can delete it of your list of project! :) --Khanassassin (talk) 20:38, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Would you mind if I use your name in my list of completed projects? Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 03:39, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, go ahead and use it! :) --Khanassassin (talk) 09:07, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Your edits to Jak II and Jak 3

[edit]

I didn't add the information in the first place so I can't be 100 % sure where the original user who added it go it from. However if you check out several forums that deal with Jak & Daxter like Gamespot or PlayStation Forums a number of users have voiced their opinions on the matter which I think is enough to clarify in the source that some of the fanbase found the game hard. ---StevenBjerke 22:03, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those forums and personal experience (I own all three games, I know how unforgiving they are) are enough to convince me. The problem is that Wikipedia doesn't appreciate either as a source. What we would need is a professional reviewer that spoke of the madness-inducing dificulty, or a similarly respected source. I personally suck at source-searching, but maybe if we put out a call on the article talk pages, we might get such a reliable source. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 07:26, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, since I'm sure at least one professional reviewer commented on the difficulty of the two games. Just out of curiosity did you manged to collect all the Precursor Orbs in Jak II and 3? ---StevenBjerke 21:44, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request posted. On a side note, no, I never did find all the Precursor Orbs in II or 3, but I did find them in the first one.Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 05:16, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sin & Punishment

[edit]

(Reverted edit by IP address; clearly it's not well enough established yet to warrant an article. Until it is, rail shooter sufficiently describes it.)

According to whom exactly? You? Everyone I talk to in my arcade community recognizes Cabal shooters as a distinct genre, which Sin and Punishment was clearly another take on. All Treasure did for the game was add into-the-screen scrolling. Rail shooters, on the other hand, are generally accepted to have a limited level of mobility.174.45.209.177 (talk) 08:43, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, the article on cabal shooters doesn't exist yet. As such, it's less helpful at the moment to describe the game as such than to stick with calling it a rail shooter. Someone may ask what a cabal shooter is, and we currently don't describe a cabal shooter. You can change that by creating an article on cabal shooters; I bet the community as a whole would appreciate the help. Until then, I've seen Sin and Punishment, and I believe that it can be described as a rail shooter, even if it's not the most precise description possible. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 03:08, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
An entire article though? I've been meaning to write a better description of Cabal shooters on Wikipedia somewhere, but I'm not sure where to put it exactly. I'm not sure how to do better than that subsection I linked to in Cabal shooter.174.45.209.206 (talk) 19:11, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's perfectly sufficient. I mentioned the article route because the link to cabal shooter was red. A link to a subsection will provide enough information to the reader. Thank you. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 02:30, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Larry remember [me|[1]],well I was thinking we should just make a character selection instead.74.178.177.48 (talk) 20:09, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be happy to consider it if I knew what you're referring to. Unfortunately, the link you provided seems to go nowhere. What character section are you referring to? Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 04:39, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The link is fixed,I think.74.178.177.48 (talk) 17:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I remember you now. Yea, I was thinking that a character section would likely be the best way to go. Since you've played the game and I haven't, I'll let you handle it. In general, the wise ones prefer that character sections be in prose (paragraph format) rather than list format, so probably two paragraphs, one for the good guys and one for the bad guys, should be enough. I'll help as much as I can. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 03:53, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Larry,I'll work on it,TO THE SANDBOX.:P 74.178.177.48 (talk) 20:24, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Metal Arms Glitch in The System

[edit]

Please do remove any added new information to the Metal Arms Glitch in The System as like you said your self you have no idea what the game is,Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.150.67.239 (talk) 12:27, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As I noted in my summary, the information you provided was better suited to a gaming wiki than to Wikipedia. Please read WP:INDISCRIMINATE for further information on what is acceptable in an article. If you have your heart set on providing information on weapons and vehicles in the game, it might be better to find a more informative way of presenting it than a simple list, such as how they (in general, not specifically) affect the gameplay. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 02:11, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My "Trivial information" is me adding detail to the game, I listed more detail to the wiki just by adding a list of weapons and vehicles, and what they each do. I did a few typo corrections and added a "Factions" tab. I can see how you may see this as trivia, but in the next few months, a lot of the older wikias made for Metal Arms will be shut down for not enough activity. This is not me justifying any trivial information; this is me preserving information for when all other sources of information for this game are gone. --Vuthakral Darastrix

The information provided on the wiki was not by me but another person and it is relevant for it to be added to the wikipage,I don't see why you have to have your heart set on trying to change it back can't you just go edit some other pages that you know information of.

Here's what I can do. I can put a request on the Project page for someone to review this specific case and see if there's any basis for allowing it. In the meantime, it might be best if neither of us touches it until we hear back. I don't think they'll go for it, but there's no harm in asking. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 04:24, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This is really getting tiresome. I had a similar issue once with an IP-hopping editor how insisted that the phrase "from the tender age of seven" should be added to an article, no matter what was said. In the end, only a semi-protect helped. I'm afraid if this doesn't stop that might be our only solution. --Soetermans. T / C 10:27, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I feel for him; I know what it's like to be a fanboy of a game with no respect (I'm a Zelda geek surrounded by PS3 and XBox guys in real life), but just because his fansites were shut down is no reason to put trivial information where it doesn't belong. If you decide that protection is necessary, I'll back you up. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 04:25, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just request a semi-protect, with that IP hopping editor this might never come to an end. --Soetermans. T / C 13:17, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Geez, finally. --Soetermans. T / C 07:30, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. DarkToonLink (talk) 10:07, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have a message at my talk page Hey Larrythefunkyferret, you have a reply at my talk page, for when you have a moment czar · · 14:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since you expressed interest in it being promoted to WP:GA, I was wondering if you would be interested in helping move it toward that. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 18:10, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can do what I can. Bear in mind, when I try to go outside the plot summary or anti-vandalism duty, I tend to get yelled at by both serious editors and fans. I'll look at the plot summary again; I remember the last time I summarized it some smart people had questions about why I left certain story points out.Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 03:25, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Done with the story. It's a little longer than I'm comfortable with, but all except the Gameplay are about the same length, so I don't think there's any "undo weight" right now. That being said, I'll feel more comfortable if the Gameplay can be beefed up. That's outside my abililty though, since Super Smash Bros is pretty much the closest I've ever gotten to playing any game in this franchise. Let me know if you approve or decide to feed me to the lions. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 00:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
